THE INVERCARGILL AND BLUFF ROAD.
Strangers travelling to and from Invercargill and Bluff Harbor, if on horseback, will find that the distance between the above places (20 miles) may be travailed both with speed and comfort by leaving Invercargill at half-ebb, and the Bluff at r jq&wfeter. Travellers on foot to leave the former place at first of the ebb, and the latter at last quarter ebb, bearing in mind that a westerly or H.W. gale will cause a seven hours QOOA, leaving but 5, hours ebb, so that it will be necessary to get under jvay accordingly. The above distance is generally covered by horsemen in from 2£ to 3 -hours, and on foot in from, 4 J to 6 hours.
