MITCHELL—FORBES.
I am indebted to a correspondent for the following : —On Wednesday afternoon, 7th November, a pleasant event was celebrated —the marriage of Mr Alex. Mitchell (son of Mr J. A. Mitchell, Invercargill) to Miss Jessie Forbes (daughter of Mr A. Forbes, of New River). The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr White. The bride looked very nice in a creme costume, trimmed with satin and lace of the same colour, with nretty bouquet and veil. Miss C. Forbes (sister of the bride) and Miss Mary Mitchell (sister of the bridegroom) also wore pretty creme dresses. The bridegroom was waited on by his brother, Mr R. Mitchell. In the evening the barn, which had been beautifully decorated, was sought, and there dancing was carried on till daylight. The Messrs Blue supplied excellent music, and during the evening songs were sung by Messrs James Blue, Wishart, and Grant, while Mr Mclntosh and Master Mitchell danced a hornpipe. The wedding gifts were both numerous and beautiful.
