CITY GUARDS’ BAND SOCIAL
A very pleasant social under the auspices of the City Guards’ Band, was held in Hanan’s Hall on Thursday evening, when about 35 couples rose to the grand march. The hall was very nicely decorated with flags and evergreens, and the whole, with the neat uniforms of the bandsmen, and the pretty costumes worn by the ladies, presented a very animated appearance. Excellent music was supplied by Miss Kirwan (piano) and Mr McGregor (violin), Mr T. Nisbet, the genial secretary, making a capital master of ceremonies. An A I spread was supplied by Mr D. Kingsland in that gentleman’s best style. Some really good songs ware sung during the evening, and dancing was kept up till a late hour on Friday morning, w'hen the company dispersed, well pleased with the night’s amusement provided by the members of the City Guards’ Band.
