Now that the potato and grain markets have reached such a low ebb,

farmers (says a correspondent) would , do well to turn their attention a little h'more to “the gentleman that pays the rent.” Although there may not be much profit in keeping- pigs, on a small scale, still I have observed that under proper management on a large scale, there is more money in pigs than is generally known. It is always g-ood policy to have a few irons in the fire, and anything that will tend to lessen the amount of grain sold at unprofitable rates is a public benefit.
