In consequence of the abolition of the duty on raw wool by the United States Parliament, New York dealers in the staple are making preparations for heavy importations. A wool exchange is being built in West Broadway, New York, in expectation of increased trade. The Mersey Dock and Harbor Boaid at Liverpool is increasing on a large scale the facilities for handling wool, in the hope of making Liverpool the centre of the Australasian wool trade.
