AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS.

The J. Gr. Ward Farmers’ Association of New Zealand report having held their fortnightly stock sale at the Invercargill yams on Tuesday. The entry was only a small one but in some of the pens of both sheep and cattle the quality was good and _ competition for best quality keen. Our entries were 446 fat sheep, 400 stores, 33 fat cattle, 6 stores, all of which we sold as under. Fat sheep—Extra heavy ewes and wethers, (top price) ; ewes at 14s 7d, 13s 7d, 11s 9d, and 11s Id ; wethers and ewes, 12s 6d, 11s and lls 9d ; small half fat, 10s 9d, 9s 10d,and 10s ; ewes in lamb, 200 at 9i, and 200 small hoggets at 7s 4d. A pen of lambs, the first of the seaeon brought 10s each. These were bred by Messrs J- Eeid and Son, Monte Christo, from their famous Shropshire rams, and were very forward. , , „ „ r -. Fat cattle Bullocks brought L 9 7s 6d, L 9, L 8 17s 6d, and L 7, small down to L 6, and email cows, Lsl2s 6d, 105 5s and 306. Store cattle—Cows ranged from L 6 5s to 305 10s for best, and low-conditioned and old from L 3 to L 4; young cattle (only a few forward), yearlings 30s, steers L 4 to L 5 10s. Horse Market —On Saturday, on account ot the very rough weather, the entry was only a email one and the demand good. Several buyers of young draughts did not get supplied Best sorts brought L2O to L 23 medium sorts Ll2 to LlB. Hacks are still dull of sale unless for upstanding young sorts.
