Notice is hereby given that the Southland County Council is prepared to give subsidies at the rate of pound lor pound to the amount raised by Farmers’ Clubs and Eocal Committees towards the destruction of small birds, either for poisoned grain or collecting of sparrows and linnets eggs, to the extent of a sum not exceeding L2O in each riding. The money to be paid over on certificate of the chairman of such Club or Committee that such Club or Committee has expended £or the above mentioned purpose twice the amount of the subsidy claimed and voted. To ensure united action the Council will not recognise any applications for votes of subsidies if presented after the meeting of 10th August. By order. R. P. MacUOUN, County Clerk and Treasurer.
