Missing Friends
The following persons who left the United Kingdom for Australia, or were last heard of in these colonies, are inquired for in Lloyd’s weekly newspaper of April 1, the editor of which has the addresses of the inquirers. Adams (H. E.), native of Uplyme, Devon, was last heard of from Featherstone, New Zealand, in September, 1892. He had a brother George, a member of the Hansard staff, who was killed in an accident at Wellington (N.Z.) in 1887. His aged mother and sisters inquire. Owen (George Edward) formerly lived a seafaring life, and was known at Portsmouth and Plymouth by the name of “ Scissors.” He afterwards came to Australia. Brother Jack has had no news for three years. Smith (Frank) was last heard of in 1848 as pastrycook and confectioner, 68-J- Elizabeth street, Hobart Town, Tasmania. Brother Joseph asks. Turner (James and Thomas), are inquired for by their anxious mother. James went to Townsville, Australia, six years ago, and when last heard.from 18 months since was working for Mr Tyler at Thyra Station, Cape River, Q. E. N., Townsville; Thomas last wrote home two years back, when his address was Moeraki, Hillgrove, Oamaru, Otago, New Zealand.
