AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS.
The J. G-. Ward Farmers’ Association of N. Z., Limited, report having held sales •daving the week at Gore and Invercargill yards. The entry in the Gore yards was a fairly large one in sheep, but the prices, ■except for one or two very exceptional lots, which reached 14s for fat was low. Some small two-tooth’s mixed sexes as low as 7s to 8s each. Lambs, for best sorts brought 7s to 8s; small undergrown at 3s 6d to ss, and ewes in lamb from 4s to 9s each. At the Invercargill yards on the following day the entry was only small in all classes, and the attendance also small. The beef forward sold fairly well considering the quality, best being 22s 6d to 255, and inferior 18s to ,20s a 1001 b. Fat sheep were very dull of sale, ewes ranging at 6s to 9s each. Store sheep only a line or two forward. We sold 600 wethers and maiden ewes at 8s 2d each Lambs 3s 6d to 7s 6d each. Horse Market. On Saturday we had again about 70 forward, including a contractor’s plant, which sold well. Prices for best sorts ranged up to L 23 ; medium and light, Ll 5 to LIB. Large numbers of horses of all sorts are being poured in here from •Oamaru, Christchurch, Gore and other •centres, which are bound to bring prices •down.
