SOUTH WINDHAM. The bachelors’ annual invitation ball was held in the South Wyndham schoolhouse on the 23rd inst. The night being tine, there was a large gathering of young and old, there being 35 couples present. Some of them came a long distance, and I don’t think they regretted making the journey. The music was provided by Mr McDonald (violin) and Mr Pettit (banjo). Mr Burgoyue as M.C. kept the bad rolling. Songs were sung at intervals by Messrs J. Walker, W. Graham, J. Smart, A. Monaghan, and A. Jones, and a hornpipe was danced by Mr J. Borguyre. The refreshments were provided by the bachelors of the district. Dancing was kept up till about four in the morning, when all left for their homes in good spirits after singing ' l4 Auld Lang Syne.”
