“ They would paint their bull.”—An Ameri ' can farmer, on reading that a bull painted by Hosa Uonheur sold for five thousand dollars, remarked to his wife that he didn’t see how a coat of paint eould so greatly enhance the value of the animal; but if Uosa didn’t charge more than ten dollars he would get her to paint his bull in the spring. His economical wife replied that she thought he might paint it himself, and save his ten dollars. After he j paints the bull he is going to try his hand at the buggy he bought from W. tl.
