The markets are thus reported on for theweek ended 17th January : Fat Cattle.—Only 96 head yarded. Best bullocks brought £9 10s to £lO ss; extra heavy to £ll 2s Gd ; medium to good, £8 to £9 os ; light, £G 7a 6d to £7 17s Gd ; best cows, £7 los to £8 17s Gd ; medium to good, £5 2s Gd to £7 7s Gd ; light and inferior, £3 15s to £1 17s Gd. Fat Sheep—-The entry numbered only 740, nearly all crossbred ewes, medium to good, with a few pens prime. Best crossbred wetuers brought 13s Gd to 14a 3d ; medium, I2s to 13s 3d; best crossbred ewes, 12s to 13a Gd ; medium, 8s 9d to 11s 9d. Eabbitskius are in good demand, and sell fully up to the London equivalent. Catalogues arc now small, but competition for the classes of skins now offering is very keen. Quotations : For late winter greys, up to 13jd ; for springs, to 12*d ; summers, 7d to Bid ; inferior, Gd to 7d; suckers and halfgrown, 3Ad to 5d per lb.
