GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS IN NEW SOUTH WALES.
Tenders fox’ a number of extensive works were recently let by the N. S. W. Government. The contracts contain a provision which prevents the flooding of the market with laborers from the other colonies whilst there is any available labor in N. S. W. The provision, the Minister of Works
states, does not interfere in any way with the ordinary traffic of laborers from the other colonies, but will enable him to deal with any special influx. The contractors expressed themselves as quite satisfied with the contracts.
