BYE-LAWS. Notice is hereby given that the Campbelltown Borough Council did, by special order at a special meeting held on the 10th (October, 1893, make certain bye-laws in respect of the prevention of cattle wandering, and the regulation of the width of tiros of wheels, to come into operation on the Ist day of December, 1893, and that such special order and byelaws will be submitted for confirmation at a meeting of the said Council to be held at the Court House, Campbelltowu, at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday, the 11th November, 1893. Also that the bye-laws above referred to arc now open for inspection at the olHce of the Town Clerk. By order. D. M. McDOUGALL, Town Clerk. Copy of resolution passed at a special meeting of the CampbeUtown Borough Council, hold on the lith November, 1893, confirming tlie resolution of 10th October, 1893 : “ That this Council' hereby confirms the resolution passed on the loth October, 1893, adopting the Council’s Bye-law Amendments.” CORPORATION OF CaMPBELLTOWX. Bye-Laws. It is hereby notified that the CampbeUtown Borough Council did by Resolution passed at a special meeting held on 10th October, 1893, and confirmed at a special meeting held on 11th November, 1893, make by special order the following Bye-laws : Bobougii of Cahfbelltowx. BYE-LAWS. In pursuance of the powers, provisions, and authorities contained in “ The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” and of all other enabling powers, provisions, and authorities contained in any other Acts or otherwise vested in it, the Council of tiie Borough of CampbeUtown hereby make and ordain the following bye-laws, the same to come into operation on the first clay of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four. These Bye-laws shall be incorporated in and be deemed to be a part of the Bye-laws made by the Council of the borough of Campbelltown, and sealed with its seal on tlie twentyseventh day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty four, and hereinafter referred to as the principal bye-laws. That sub-section 29. of by-law 56 on page 18 of principal bye-laws is hereby repealed, and in lieu thereof the following shall be read as part of the principal bye-laws, viz.: —“ Any person who suffers any cattle or other beast of pasture or pigs to wander or be at large on any public street or unenclosed land within the Borough, provided always that milch cows tethered on unenclosed land shall not be held to infringe this section.” Width of Tires of Wheels (Additional Bye-law). 89. The width of tires of all wheels of every cart, dray, waggon, or other vehicle upon the roads in the Borough of Campbelltown shall be regulated in proportion to the load on such cart, dray, waggon, or other vehicle according to the scale set forth in the first schedule hereto, and every owner, or driver, or other person in charge of any cart, dray, waggon, or other vehicle, on any such road, the whole load on which shall exceed that specified and provided for in the said first schedule shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds sterling. 98. It shall he lawful for any person acting under the authority of the Council, or for any policeman or constable to stop any cart, dray, waggon, or other vehicle affected by tlie first section of this by-law when on any such road, and to examine and measure the width of the tires of the wheels of such cart, dray, waggon, or other vehicle, and to cause such cart, dray, waggon, or other vehicle, and the load thereon, to be weighed if a weighbridge be within a reasonable distance, and if there be no weighbridge within a reasonable distance to measure and compute the weight ’of the load on such cart, dray, waggon, or other vehicle on the scale set forth in the second schedule hereto. And every

owner, or driver, or other person in charge of sueh cart, dray, waggon, or other vehicle after such weighing or measuring and examination shall have been lawfully required, refusing to permit such weighing, measuring, or examination, or in any way hindering or obstructing the same, shall for such offence be liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds sterling. FIRST SCHEDULE. WIDTH OE TIRES IN PROPORTION TO LOADS. On two Wheels.—For load not exceeding 20 cwt., tires not to he less than. 2£ inches wide ; for load exceeding 2 • cwt. but not exceeding 28 cwt., tires to be not less than inches wide; for load exceeding 28 cwt. but not exceeding 35 cwt., tires to be not less than 3| indies wide; for load exceeding 35 cwt. but not exceeding 45 cwt., tires to be not less than 4 inches wide. No load shall exceed 45 cwt. And on lour Wheels. —For load not exceeding 45 cwt., tires not to be less than 21 inches wide; for load exceeding 45 cwt. but not exceeding 65 cwt., tires not to be less than 3i inches wide ; for load exceeding 65 cwt. but not exceeding 80 cwt., tires to be not less than 4 inches wide; for load exceeding 80 cwt. but not exceeding 100 cwt., tires to be not less than 5 inches wide. No load shall exceed 100 cwt.
