Asken : “ What kind o£ a fellow is Dumleigh ?” Tell: “ Well, Dumleigh is a fellow who, if he were to think twice before he spoke, would lose the use of his voice.” Mrs Croaker, indignantly : “ Why; you used to say that I sang- like a bird before we were married !” Mr Croaker: “Yes; but you don’t often hear birds singing in their nests, and you’re at it all the time.” Old lady (to druggest) : “ I want a box of canine pills.” Druggist: “ What is the matter with the dog ?” Old lady (indignantly) : “ I want you to know, sir, that my husband is a gentleman.” • Druggist puts up some quinine pills in silence.
