AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS.

The N. M. and A. Co., report as follows; — Business has been comparatively quiet recently, and, although there is an abundance of feed everywhere, buyers of stock are operating very carefully. No doubt this is owing to the freezing companies having not as yet definitely fixed the prices for mutton, but there is no apparent reason to anticipate any noticeable drops in values, as the freezing industry is not likely to be affected seriously until such times as Australia can produce the quantity they expect to. Jn the meantime we are pretty safe, and no doubt as soon a», shearing is over the volume of business will incrjase rapidly. In the cattle market prices remain wonderfully high, especially for stores. Fat cattle have suffered in price mainlyowing to irregularity of supply but it is not expected that any low values will be reached for some time. We have sold privately during the week, 108 head bullocks in good condition, at £5 7s 6d to £o los ; steers and heifers, £3 16s to £4 10s according to quality, and a line of 26 fat cows at £S and 27 fat bullocks (light weights) at £8 10s, also a small lot of daii’y cows at market values.
