The J. Gr. Ward Farmers’ Association report for the week ending 2-sth inst;--At our Gore sale on Tuesday, 21st inst., the entry was just a medium one and made up mostly of hoggets and ewes and lambs. The attendance was good and with splendid growing weather and any quantity of grass, it was expected that there would be a brisk demand for young sheep at advanced prices. This, however, was net the ease, and only at rates ruling at the last two sales, could business be done. 13est hoggets reached 13 s 7d, and small and inferior 8s to 10s each, while best ewes (with lambs at foot) brought 16s 7d ; others from lis to 13s, and merinos as low as 6s each. Our entry for this sale was 900 hoggets, the whole of which were sold as under, viz— 412 at lls 9J, 135 at lls 7d, 72 at lls 6d, 111 at lls Bd, 94 at 8s 2d, and 72 old ewes (with lambs at foot) at 13s lid each. We sold two pens of ' superior fat cattle up to £ll 7s 6d a head. Horse market —On Saturday, 18th inst., we held our weekly sale in Prince of Wales yards, when the entry was only a medium one. We sold the best of horses forward at quite equal to the late ruling prices, but tliere was very little demand for inferior sorts. We quote draught mares and geldings (medium to good), L2O to L 24; no superior draughts forward. Hacks, P 9 to Lll for usual sorts ; L 5 to L 7 10s for inferior; dairy cows, L 5 5s to L 6 each. Sheepskins, Wool, etc. —On Monday, 28th inst, we submitted a full catalogue of above and sold the lot as under : Fleece wool (in bales) at 7d per lb for mixed crossbred ; dead at sfd ; pieces at 4fd to sid ; butchers’ sheepskins at 4s to 4s 8d each ; dry skins at 4-jd to 5f d per lb ; hides at l£d to 2d per lb; tallow at 18s 6d per cwt; rough fat at 9s per cwt. 1

Wyndham sale, Thursday, 23rd hist— About 230 head cattle entered, and 1500 sheep. The latter were mostly cull lots, and sold at small prices. We sold 440 fair hoggets at 10s 9d and about 125 head cattle at the following prices—store cattle, 4 and 5, 3 and 4,2 and B year-old bullocks, £6 13s, £5 19s, £4 Is ; store cows, £3 to £4 5s ; yearlings, LI 10s to L2 8s ; dairy cows, L 5 10s to L 6 5s ; Fat cows, L 5 15s to L 6 ss. Skin sale —Large quantities still come to hand, and sell at good prices. Private sales—The demand for store stock continues very good, especially in good store bullocks, which are scarce. We have placed a number during the week at satisfactory prices. Wool—This is now coming forward for the first sale, which is to be held on January sth, We expect to see a good demand and full prices. Produce—Business is dull. Oats, nominally Is 7d and Is on trucks, country stations. Wheat, 2s 3d. Kyegrass, prime samples, farmers’ dressed, 3s ; ordinary, 2s to 2s fid.
