Country News
G-ORE. A sad case of drowning happened on Tuesday at Waikaka Valley, where a little girl, IS months old, daughter of Adam Fleming, lost her life. It appears the little thing had only been lost sight of for a few minutes, and on search being made it was discovered that she had fallen into a tub of water, and when taken out life was extinct. Much sympathy is felt for Mr and Mrs Fleming, who were at the time on a visit to Christchurch. Although the date of the general election is close at hand there is very little stir so far. Mr McNab was in town on Wednesday, and reports a good reception at his meeting at Pukerauthe evening before. We may ex pect to hear the Hon G. F. Richardson and Mr" Christie soon, as neither have yet spoken at Gore.
The Go.tdon public school has undergone an ither successful examination at the hands Of Inspector Hendry.
