LIEUTENANT HALL.

Lieutenant Hall’s service also dates from, the commencement of the Eiversdale Eifles, when he was unanimously elected to the position he now holds, and has proved himself ait able and efficient officer—one who has always been to the fore in the furtherance of tha i iterests of the company.

It would be unpardonable to refer to the’ Eiversdale Eifles without saying a few words regarding the father of the movement there. We refer, of course, to Captain Donald, wh® devoted himself heart and soul to the formation of a first-class company. He was fortunate in his choice of recruits, those offering, being as a rule men of exceptionally good, physique. With this as a basis, he brought his knowledge of drill into play with admirable results, the corps frequently earning the commendation of insnecting officers by reason of their fine discipline and soldierly bearing,. Capt Domdd was very popular with his men,, and great regret was expressed at his enforced, retirement through illness —lessened only by the fact that he was succeeded by a thoroughly capable office.
