AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS.
The Farmers’ Alliance and Supply Company of New Zealand, Limited, report as follows: Sheepskins—During the week considerable business has been done under this heading, and now that the freezing works are shut down fellmongers are dependent on fanners’ and butchers’ lots for supplies. At our sale on Monday we quitted - a large catalogue of all descriptions at very full prices, leaving a very small margin on London rates. We sold good all round crossbreds at 5| d to 5-Jd per lb (at these prices many lots realised 5s to 4s 7d each). Dead pelted hoggets are bringing 4d to 5d per lb.; merino 4d to 4f d for fair ordinary lines* Habbitskins are now very much off season, in fact, late caught are practically only racks, prices for which run from 7d to 9d ; good springs are selling at from lOd to lid, with brisk demand; no winters in the market. Fat—We sold some tons on Monday at from 13s to 15s 3d,t the later price being for best, about 13s to 14s Cd being the average price. We would advise vendors to save heating, which is due to the goods being packed and left in the bags too long. Tallow—We sold all forward at from 17s 9d to 18s 6d per cwt. Horsehair—ls per lb. Hides—Same as last week.
