WINTON CALEDONIAN SOCIETY. The adjourned annual meeting of the Caledonian Society was held in the Commercial Hotel last Wednesday. The president (Mr W. Keith) occupied the chair. The minutes, balance sheet, and report were read and adopted. It is needless to summarise in general the workings of the Society during the past year. Suffice it to say everything was characterised as satisfactory. The re ceipts for the year were LlO3 6s 7d ; expenses L 92 2s 2d ; credit balance carried forward to coming sports, Lll 4s sd. The membership fee was unaltered—los per annum, the number on the roll being fully 40. Considerable improvements were effected to the grounds during the year, so taken as a whole there is no lack ou the part of the executive to see that the requirements of the public are amply looked after, consequently it only remains for the public to reciprocate. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows:—President, Mr W. Keith (re-elected); vice-president, Mr A. McKay; treasurer, Mr G. M. Starkey (reelected) ; secretary, Mr M. O’Brien. Hearty votes of thanks were accorded to the retiring officers, especially to Mr Jas. Wilson, the secretary, who had occupied the position about ten years. The meeting, after passing a vote of thanks to the chair, adjourned till next Wednesday at same time and place.
