Cycling Notes.
(By Safety.) I was pleased the other evening, on my way home, to see a young lady spinning along the road on a safety at about •i2 miles an hour ; and with far more grace and ease than half the new gentlemen cyclists who hare had twice the tuition. This is not the only case, so look out for your laurels on the opening run. Lust Wednesday week I journeyed to Rimu and back with two others, one of these being quite a novice, who, when nearing our destination, had a side slip and fell, bending his crank in the downfall. Ido blacksmith being handy, we managed to straighten it a little, and enabled him to ride. This was really a creditable performance, he having only been on a machine about a week, and riding 16 miles, the last half being with a bent crank and against a head wind. It is sincerely to be hoped there will bo a good muster at our next general meeting, as it will be the last before the run ; and members should come, if only to receive final instructions and their badges. If riders will insist upon riding upon the footpaths, will they please ring their bells when approaching anyone ?
