A SLIGHT MISTAKE.
A near-sighted young man was showing his sweetheart some fossils at the British Museum.
“ This,” he said, “looks like a piece of Java rock, and this is, no doubt, a petrified sponge. An old man rushed up, and snatchthe specimens up, exclaimed : “Leave an old man’s lunch alone, will yer F It’s hard lines that, while I am dusting the seats, yer should interfere with my bit o’ bread and cheese.”
