CURIOUS MARRIAGE STATISTICS.

A Crcrman statistician has recently published the results of his investigations of the relative ages of husbands and wires in the various Capitals of Europe, He ascertained that marriages arc the most frequent where the husband is two or three years older than the wife. Women, under 20 years of age, however, usually take unto themselves husbands six or seven years older than themselves. The cases in which the man was a year younger than the woman were almost as numerous as those in which he was six or seven years older The first condition was true of G'7 per cent, of all married couples, and the latter condition of G'4 per cent. The eases where the husband was six or seven years younger than the wife were also just as numerous as those where he was 13 or 14 years older. Only two cases were discovered where the husband was 35 years the senior j one case where he was 47 years older, and one ease where ho was older by 46 years. One case was discovered where the. wife was 34 years older than the husband. Twelve and (hrec-tenth per cent, of all men who marry women under 20 years of age, according to the statistician, are between 26 and 27 years old,—Boston Courier,
