English and American Axes.
The fact, says the “ Ironmonger,” of London, that four different American axo manufacturers sent cases of axes and handles to be competed for at the Australasian Axemen’s Association’s annual meeting, Latrobc, Tasmania, while not a single Englishman took advantage of the occasion to make his manufactures better known, is one which should not be allowed to pass without comment. It is not gratifying to those of 'British extraction to find that the manufacturers of the old country are prepared to let the verdict in such cases go by default.
