Wyndham Notes.

At the annual meeting of householders to elect a school committee only seven put in an appearance. Five of these were members of committee last year. These being just the required number, all were elected. The names, therefore, of the committee for the current year, are Messrs Walker, McLauchlan, Boguo, Ive, Stewart, Drummond and Dr Mcnzics. At the meeting held afterwards Mr McLauchlan, who has held the position of secretary for a number of years past, and who has alway i been one of the most energetic members of committee, was appointed chairman, while Mr T. Stewart, a new member, takes his place as secretary. On Monday last, Mr Burgoyne, blacksmith, working with Mr Allison, had the misfortune to have his arm broken while shoeing a rather spirited horse. In some way he was thrown into the air, and fell on his arm. When the annual meeting of the local De-

bating Club was called some time ago, nothing was done on account of the poor attendance of members. At the adjourned meeting held in Mr Raymond's office, Mr Ayson was elected chairman, Mr Gifford secretary, and Messrs Raymond and Pauli to form a committee with the office-bearers. Our Rifle Club has had a very good season. Lately, however, our energetic Captain Fraser, I am sorry to say, has been laid up with a severe illness, and practice has dropped for a time. Mr Fraser is, I understand, getting better, and I hope to see him soon again on the range putting on a good score, and showing his men how to do it.
