Football Notes.

(By Jebsey) The annual general inceting of the S.R.F.U. for 1893 is now a thing of the past, and may the Union hare many like successful meetings. Every club associated in the Union, ■with the exception of Bluff, was represented, and on all sides the work done by the out-going officers was a topic for praise. The hon. sec. received his just share of thanks for his endeavours duriug the past season. The attainment of a new ground was considered by all a step in the right direction. The election of office-bearers for the coming season resulted in a good many changes. Mr B>. Galbraith was of course re-elected hon. sec. and trcasiu-er, and member of the match committee. The general committee has entirely changed with the exception of Messrs Oldham and Nash. On the match committee A. F. Hawke and I. Jenkins appear for the first time. The only resolution passed to which I would draw attention is that compelling members of clubs to play in their club’s registered colours. Several lengthy discussions took place at the meeting on various subjects, but the only resolutions passed were the followingl. That the match committee bo appointed at the annual general meeting, and not by the general committee as formerly. 2. That the Union endeavour to arrange second fifteen fixtures. 3. That all extraordinary business be discussed in full meeting of delegates, and not in committee. The question of referees was fully discussed, but no motion was passed, and attention was also drawn to the bye-law re clubs keeping strictly to their registered colours. Votes of thanks to the out-going office - bearers, whose work seemed highly satisfactory to all delegates present, and the chairman brought a most enthusiastic meeting to a close. The fixtures for the season are to be arranged soon, and next week I hope to be able to give you a complete list.
