PROPERTY AND FINANCIAL REPORT.

Mr C. W. Brown reports:—Since date of last report I have sold the following properties : —Section 2, block XX., town of Invercargill, -4 acre, at £6O; part section 1, block 1., Campbelltown Hundred, containing 1 aero 3 roods 20 polos, near the Pilot. Station for £105; and a block of two acres, and small cottage at North Invercargill, two sections in Tyne street, and section 17, block XY., Invercargill Hundred, containing 76 acaes 1 rood 32 poles at satisfactory prices. Town and Suburban Properties.—The demand for these is slack, and although there arc a great many properties for sale, a large number of people appear to prefer to rout houses, rather than run the risk of purchasing or building. The building trade is active, but the supply of houses is not yet equal to the demand. There are no empty dwellings in Invercargill, and now arrivals have a difficulty in obtaining house accommodation. Country Lands continue to bo bo enquired for, but the demand is principally met by the Government land office, so that there aro at p-ceseut few transactions to report. It it anticipated that as the ploughing season advances rhe demand will bo more active. Financial.—Money is obtainable on really good country securities at from 6 to 7 per cent in largo sums, and smaller amounts at 8 per cent. Invercargill, April 7th.
