Imitation Marble. • One of the lattest novelties now being introduced to manufacturers and others is an imitation marble, beautifully grained and polished, which is formed entirely of wood pulp, mixed with cement and certain chemicals, subjected tohydraulic pressure. The new material promises to come into favour as a substitute for the enamelled slate and marble slabs so largely used in the construction of chimney-pieces, tabletops, &c.
