Travellers on the Daylight Limited between Auckland and Wellington are to have the comfort of a luxuriously appointed lounge car. Two cars have been converted, one for the up train and one for the down. They are the last word in comfortable travelling as far as the railways are concerned. One of the cars is at present in the Auckland yards undergoing final tests, and it will be put into commission shortly. It contains 16 upholstered armchairs and two large couches. They are not fixed to the floor, no do they resemble in any way the ordinary railway seats. The chairs and couches can be moved to suit the convenience of passengers, and there is plenty of space between them. Each window is draped withroyal blue brocaded material, and the floor is richly carpeted.
