"STREET ANGEL" TO-NIGHT. A charming and fascinating story of picturesque Naples is unfolded in "Street Angel," a Fox Film to be screened to-night and featuring Janet Gaynor an<J Charles Farrell. Audiences everywhere have acclaimed the beauty of the settings and splendid acting. The story tells of Angelina, an unfortunate victim of circumstances who, desperate through poverty and the sickness of her mother, attempts the last resources of desperate girls and takes to the streets of an Italian town to raise money for food and her mother's medicine. She tries to steal enough money and pursuing police lose her within the friendly tent of a travelling circus. She is later found and carried away to prison while her newly discovered sweetheart gives her up for dead. However, everything turns out all right in the end and Angelina comes back to Naples to find shelter, romance and a husband.

'' GOD ' S CLAY' '—BRITAIN' S FINEST FILM. On Saturday a thrilling drama descriptive of English,' society and the artisan classes, will carry a special appeal to cinema patrons in this country. "God's Clay" is based on one of the famous novels by the favourite British authors, Claude and Alice Askew. An unfortunate motor accident throws ■the owner of a factory info association with a society girl, who looks after his bride when the smash occurs near his residence. Romance enters, and the society girl take a particular interest in the welfare of the assistants working in the young man's factory. A man appointed as secretary of the welfare club which she starts is a plausible scoundrel, who takes advantage of the girls connected with the club, resulting in a stupendous denouement when the truth comes out. Amongst the scenes which form the background for exciting incidents in the film are a hunt breakfast, where the young girl interests her sporting friends in her welfare work; a Nottingham factory, modernised in every detaal; v a local dance hall and magnificent scenes on the Cornish coast.

MONDAY—"NAME THE WOMAN."

On Monday "Name the Woman" will be screened. It is a gripping drama woven around a sensational murder trial, in which a masked woman features as a surprise witness. Daring theme, startling events, unusual plot and a smashing surprise climax will hold any audience spellbound. A colourful Mardi Gr'as celebration in full swing, a mysterious crime, the. dramatic termination of a bridge party, and the unmasking of the woman are a few of the outstanding situations in the production.
