In. the fifth round of the Shannon Club's singles championship, Roach defeated Knowles by 23 to 11 in the A section, thus winning the section. In the B section, Jones defeated Quarrie, 25: to 12 and Whiblcy defeated Cronquest, 23 to 11. Jones has to meet Whiblcy in the final of section B, and the winner meets Roach.- In the B grade, King defeated Downes by 23 to 13 and Fell defeateu Alexander by 24 to 13.
