MAORILAND THEATRE.
“COME ACROSS.” Excitement is the keynote of “Come Across,” Universal drama of society and the underworld, which will be screened in Shannon on Wednesday. “Come Across” is a colourful and vivid tale of the adventures of a society girl, who, desiring to see how the other half lives, finds herself embroiled with a gang of crooks. The action of the picture shuttles back and forth between a notorious New York night club and a mansion in a fashionable district on Long Island. The night club scenes are t described as exceptional, a daring entertainment scene and a raid sequence being featured. The cast of “Come Across” is a notable one. Headed by Liha Basquette, stage, screen and dancing star, who recently scored a triumph in “The Godless Girl,” it also includes Reed Howes, Gustave von Seyffertitz, Flora Finch, Craufurd Kent and Clarissa Selwynne. Readers are asked to watch Friday’s News for an announcement regarding Friday’s picture.
