PAVLOVA
Pavlova never eats bread, potatoes or red meat. .When women, who see the famous dancer, admire her exquisitely svelte figure, they are usually anxious to know how she keeps so slim, and what is her diet. This is her daily menu: —Breakfast: Tea and biscuits. Lunch (usually her big meal): Some white meat, green vegetables and fresh fruit, or fish and vegetables, no potatoes, of course. Tea: Russian tea, no milk, and dry toast. Supper: Fruit and biscuits.
Pavlova confesses that applause and appreciation moans happiness to her. “I live for that applause,” she says. “It is the breath of life to me. It suffuses through my being like strong, rich wine. I could not be for long without it, or like a flower, without air and rain, I should wilt and?fade. Happiness! All, my friends, I know it most of nil when you lean forward after the spell of the dancing has broken , and thank me in your own way.’for what I and my company have done. In that moment I am truly happy.”
