A rink from Shannon visited Palmerston North on Wednesday afternoon and played Manawatu for the Takaro Cup, the holders easily defeating them, winning by 42 to 8. Shannon scored on six heads only, while Manawatu took three of the remaining heads with 5 up. The' rinks were as follows: —Manawatu: Kershaw, King, Barnes and Eckersley (s); Shannon: Grey, H. Hook, Clayton, Mason (s). On Saturday next the holders of the Kinnerburg Feathers will defend a challenge from a Levin rink. Tlie first round of the Triangular Shield games commences at Levin on Wednesday next. Entries close on Saturday evening at 8 p.m. for the Singles and 'pairs championships in both A and B grades. The first games of which will be played on Wednesday next.
