CRICKET IN HOROWHENUA.
REP. MATCHES ARRANGED. MANAWATTJ TO BE PLAYED AT PALMERSTON. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Horowhcnua Cricket Association was held on Tuesday evening. An application from the Weraroa Club for the transfer of P. McLeavey from the Otaki Club was granted, subject to Otaki's approval. REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES. Mr Brabin (Wellington) wrote stating that he would be bringing a team up to Levin on November 20th. It was decided to play the matoh at Weraroa. The Manawatu Cricket Association wrote stating that they would 'be prepared to play Horowhcnua at Palmerston North on November 30th, the match, to bo commenced at 11.30. The date and venue as suggested were approved. JUNIOR GAME. Manawatu further intimated that the matter of playing a juniar representative team w-as undergoing consideration. It was decided to point out that there was no junior competition in this district, the suggestion for a junior game being aji error, as dt was meant to arrange a senior B game. The Committee decided to postpone Club fixtures on the occasion of the Levin Races, on Saturday, November 23rd. FOUR ROUNDS. The second round of Club fixtures H was drawn up and it was decided to play four rounds this year. THREE-POINT WINS. The matter of three-point awards for straight-out wins was discussed, and a general meeting of the Association was called for Wednesday, November 20th, when the matter will be further considered. M.C.C. MATCH AT WELLINGTON. A letter was received from the General Manager, New Zealand Railways, in reply to a request from the Asso ciation that excursion rates be granted on the occasion of the M.C.C. v. Wellington match on December 13th, 14th. and 16th. He stated that Christina* excursion fates would .commence on December 13th, so this would fit in with the Association's request. FINANCIAL BASIS. The matters of financial players am"; clubs were discussed. The secretary Btated that he usually wrote to al clubs about this time of the seasoi and drew their attention to the provis ins of the rules, and he would be this again at an earlv date. SECOND ROUND'AND OTHER FIXTURES. The second round and rep. fixture. 1 , were drawn up as follows: November 20th: Rep. match v. :.. Wellington team, at Weraroa. November 23rd: No fixtures on account of Levin Races. November 30th: Rep. matoh v. Man-t vratu, at Palmerston North. December 7th: Levin v. Weraroa, a. Levin; Otaki v. Paraparaumu, a. Otaki; Shannon a bye. December 14th: Weraroa v. Otaki, a Otaki; Paraparaumu v. Shannon, a Shannon; Levin, a, bye.
December 21st: Levin v. Otaki, a Otaki; Weraroa v. .Shannon, at Wera roa; Paraparaumu a bye.
28th December: No matches. January 4th: Rep. match v. Rangi tikei, at Levin or Weraroa. January 11th: Weraroa v. Parap:i rauinu, at Paraparaumu; Levin v. Shan non ; at Levin; Otaki a bye. January 18th: Otaki v. Shannon, a. Shannon; Levin v. Paraparaumu, a Paraparaumu; Weraroa a bye. January 22nd: Return rep. match \ a Wellington team, at Wellington.
