POSITIONS OF ITEAMS. The championship points so far gained by the teams engaged in the Horowhenua cricket competition are as under: —

The above game was played on the Shannon Domain on Saturday, the visitors obtaining a three-points decision win. They went to the wicket first, declaring their innings 'closed with the loss of five 'wickets for 160 runs. Shannon in their two innings compiled only 58 and 75 respectively. Picard and Roach played their usual steady game. J. Rutherford has no luck. D. Gee was the star batsman on Saturday, playing a- good bat in both innings. D. Mercer had a day off with both bat and ball.

J. Mabey could not get going and did not shjow form behind wickets Twenty-eight runs eame frori byes. T. Jude' played better in the second innings. Marsh Hakaraia is improving with the bat, showing some neat strokes, and is always alert in the field. Brady and DoAvnes would do better if they played a straight bat instead of trying to slog.

WERAROA DEFEAT PARAPARAUMU. In the Horowhenua cricket competition on Saturday, the match on the Weraroa Reserve,' against the Paraparaumu team, was a gift to the Weraroa Club. The visitors took the wicket first and made 55, the double figure scorers being E. Weggery 18, and 0. Lynch 22. Runs were quickly compiled by the home team, and they declared at 136 for the loss of four wickets. The best tally was that of Bennett, w'hese 60 included seven fours. A good display was also made by Watts, who was not out at 32. In Paraparauinu's second innings, only five wickets fell, it being agreed to forfeit the remainder. The visiting players had arrived late in the first place; subsequently some of them went away from the field, and on their return the time limit had been, reached and it was decided not to apply for an extension. Weraroa thus had a three-point win by an innings and 67 runs. Their bowling figures ran high; O'Connor took five wickets for 23 and three for 6, and Bennett
