Hr Tielmrn Boos, the Minister foi Justice, announces that he is definite : y retiring from politics and will be gazetted as Judge of the Appellate Court. hi an interview, Mr Tielmau Boor said that he shared the view of tin Prime Minister (General Ilcrt/.og) that no developments beyond, the Imperial Conference declaration regarding tinstatus of the Dominions is necessary but h.* still believes that difficulties might, arise, which ultimately can only be solved by the creation of kingdoms in the Dominions under Sovereigns from the Boyal House of England. Such an arrangement he said, would remove all causes of friction within the British Commonwealth. As a result of the by-election in Jo hnnnesburg North, the South African Party candidate, Mr J. 11. Holm ever, the former Administrator of the Transvaal, was returned to Parliament by a. majority of '305 over the Pact candidate, Mr Dutliie.
