DRESS LIKE THE DUCHESS
FEMININE CHAEI®. Described by her dressmaker as ‘'my most considerate customer,” the Duchess* of York has just finished choosing new clothes for the busy social season ahead of her, we are told by an authority. This year, 145 Piccadilly, will have to replace Buckingham Palace to 8 certain extent in the matter of official entertaining, and the Duchess is to act as hostess at many important functions.
For one big .dinner party the Duchess has ordered a dress of wine red lace, slightly draped, and having a little flowing shoulder cape which gives the effect of short sleeves. Her Court gown is made of filmy, white chiffon which lends itself to lovely clinging lines, the skirt falling into godets that almost touch the ground at the back. On the train, which is lined with silver lame, appears exquisite embroidery in pearls, silver beads, and diamante, this embroidery being repeated on the close-ly-moulded hips-. Though she sometimes dresses Princess Elizabeth in green, the Duchess does not often wear this colour.
