HOW TO USE PERFUME

There are ways in which even the most timid woman may achieve a fragrance without any fear that she may be over-doing it. Her bureau may be lined with quilted silk in which a sachet is hidden,- her frocks may hang on padded perfumed hangers, and her slippers rest on shoe-trees tipped with scented cotton. She may even tuck a tiny sachet into her hat. or her furs, pin it inside her dress, or carry it in her handbag. If you don’t like to fuss with these dainty frivolities, you can perfume your hair. When you arc shampooing, add a handful of bath salts or a bath tablet to the last rinsing water, and your hair will be fragrant for several days. Another particularly effective way is to rub just a trace of perfume in concentrated paste form on your hair. The sweet odour will linger for a week.* Many women spray essence, or toilet water on their locks with an atomiser. There has been a feeling in the past that concentrated perfume should never be used in an atomiser--that only a light toilet water should be used in this way—but this prejudice seems to be breaking down rapidly.
