WEDDING BELLS.
HENRY —GUNNING. A wedding of considerably interest was solemnised on Wednesday 9th, at the church of the Venerable Bede, Shannon, between Kenneth Stuart, only son of Mr'and Mrs W. Henry, of Inglewood and Dorothy, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. H. Gunning, “Pomona,” Shannon. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr Young and the church was very prettily decorated by friends of the bride. “The Voice that Breathed O’er Eden” being played by Mrs F. Taylor at the organ. The bride looked very charming in a frock of nasturtium pink crepe-de-ehine with hat to match and a lovely bouquet of Iceland poppies of the same shade and maidenhair. The bridesmaid was Miss Betty Gunning, neice of the bride, who was prettily attired in a frock of pale green crepe-de-cliine and hat to tone and carried a lovely posy of amber Primroses and maidenhair (and was the gifs of Mrs T. Hallam), Mr Russell Boys acted in the capacity of best man. Later a reception was held in the Parish Hall where the guests in the unavoidable absence of the bride’s mother, were received by her sister, Mrs Currie, of Waverley. The happy couple stood under a beautiful bell of clematis the work of Mrs J. Hallam, as also were the decorations.
The bridegroom’s gift to the bride wag a beautiful musquash fur coat and to the bridesmaid a gold bangle. The bride’s gift to the bridegroom being a wallet. Later the happy couple left by ear for the South —the bride travelling in,a smart costume and hat to tone and a beautiful Mongolian fox fur.
