PLUNKET MEETING.

The monthly meetiug of the Shannon branch of the'Plunket Society wan held in the Plunket room, Stout Street, last evening, Mrs Clifford Jones (President) presiding. The usual routine of business was dealt with, Nurse Norris's report showing 126 visits to rooms for the month of ° September, being considered highly satisfactory and most encouraging from every point of view. With a steady increase in the number of babies receiving treatment it certainly implies the utmost confidence in the nurse and Plunket system generally. An invitation was received from the Croquet Club for Saturday next, the 12-th inst., the official opening of the season.

At che conclusion of the meeting a vote of sympathy Avas passed to Mrs C. Ea3ton (vice-president) on the death of her brfother on Saturday last.
