Desmond, the ever successful attorney, to prove his feeling toward Marsden, takes his case when Quinn ' is found murdered and Marsden is held lor the crime. How he saves, his .■• lifelong friend from life imprisonment

is told in dramatic fashion in a crashing climax.

VAUDEVILLE AND PICTURES. In addition to the picture pro gramme on Friday, there will be a turn by a skilful Gurkha magician, Professor Azros, who comes with excellent recommendations. "Lonesome," the Universal Special which heads the programe, poignantly portrays the emotions of a boy and a girl, lonesome to the point of tears, who eventually overcome the pall of lonesomeness and find happiness in each other. "Lonesome" is the sensation of the year. It has caused more diseus3ion among cinema folk than any picture ever before made. Fans all over the world have written and wired the new director thanking him for a new thrill to jaded film appetites. That it will make screen history is.no secret.
