MIRANUI GRAND BALL.

A BRILLIANT FUNCTION. " The Miranui Grand Ball held in the Druids' Hall on Tuesday evening was one of the most successful functions that has been held in Shannon, credit for which is due tos the committee, Messrs T. Watson, J. Prentice, W. Guy, 11. Curran, P.. Morse, V. McEwan and A. Rawlinson for tire excellent arrangements they had made. The hall was packed, visitors being present from Foxton, Bulls, Palmerston .North, Levin, Manakau. Ohau and Pahiatua, among them being Messrs Petrie and Ferris (Wellington), Misses Seifert, E. Seifert and Mr Paterson, of Palmerston North. The hall had been very cleverly decorated with flax, and with the coloured lights and green and black streamers together with the many coloured frocks of the ladies, made the scene one of brilliancy. The duties of Master of Ceremonies were very capably fulfilled by Mr Gillespie, who did not spare himself to see that everyone enjoyed themselves. Mrs Rawlinsou and Miss M. Christophcrson were responsible for the beautiful decorations in the supper room also for the excellent supper arrangements, both ladies being deserving of great praise. Dancing was kept up until the early hours of the morning, patrons voting the function as one of the best held this season.
