Greens were - dominating the game and presently were knocking at the door again. From a scrum just outside Horowhenua territory, Waugh sent the leathei to Tetlcy, who cut in brilliantly and sent the leather, travelling along the line as far as O'Keefo, who scored. Powell could not raise the kick. Manawatu 12—0.

Again Manawatu attacked and tried the defence in its favourite corner. An attempt at in-passing from a rush met with disaster and Atkins relieved with a nice line kick to half-way. From the resulting line-out and scrummage, Horowhenua t was awarded a penalty, but Metera had no success. ' A bril liant breakaway by Atkins saw play move back to Manawatu ground.
