A GREAT SUCCESS. The efforts of the' school teachers to assist in raising funds toAv ards the installation of a septic tank at the school by organising the children’s plain and faucy dress ball, which Avas held in the Druids’ Hall on Friday e\'ening, proved a great success, the sum of £l7, 7s 6d being taken and as the expenses are not heavy, a good profit should be shoAvn. The hall was Avell taxed by a big assemblage of children and adults, the majority of the children being in fancy dress. The costumes >vere tastefullv designed and most original, and it is doubtful if a finer lot have been seen at a similar function in Shannon. The judges had no mean task to select the prize-winners. The little ones had charge

of the floor for over tAVo hours, every one of them entering into the dancing with enthusiasm, and Avith Mr J. T. Bovis as M.C., there were no dull moments. Mrs L. Jenkins supplied the music. The eroAvning joy of the evening to the children was' the excellent supper, provided by the ladies, Avhich they enjoyed to the fullest extent. After the children retired front the floor the adults danced till after midnight, Mrs Butler and Mr A. Mason providing the music. During the evening Mr A. E. Hyde, chairman, on behalf of the school committee, in a brief speech, thanked the teachers for the splendid results attained, also the children aiifl parents and all who had helped in any Avay torvards the success of the evening.
