THE HARBOUR BOARD RATE.

TO BE COLLECTED IN NEAR FUTURE. At the conclusion of a discussion on the various improvements which were necessary at the wharf, Harbour Board shed, and in the river at yesterday’s meeting of the Foxton Harbour Boaid, Mr M. E. Perreau remarked: “I take it the Board’s proposed rate will be collected now.” The Chairman: All local bodies seem to be anticipating that move and have made arrangements to meet the rate in their estimates. The Board is. hard put to to carry on and there is no other option, in my opinion, but to collect the rate.

The matter was not discussed further and no definite action wag taken bv the Board.
