NAUGHTY CHILDREN
The term "naughty" is often : plied to children who arc merely hij spirited or full of boundless ener There are few children who are rea naughty, and these ai-e often made by faulty management, such as sp ing during babyhood, slack discipli and even errors of diet. If children fed on food which is too stimulati and especially if, they are given much meat, they will not be so easy control as children that are prope fed. A child who is fed correctly, J b;;s the proper amount of sleep, fr air, sunshine and exercise, stands a I :er chance of being healthy o*id i mal in every way that the child t is pampered and brought up in 'a 1 house atmosphere. Over-strained ncr .ind inherent'weakness are other ear . f naughtiness. Mothers who. with naughty children I ■(veil consider if they allow tl enough scope for working off their tural high spirits. It is natural children to romp and play, rush ab shout and make a noise, and t should be allowed to do so unrestr ed at times. On the other hand t should be taught from early ehildh that there are times wben they n be quiet. Habits of obedience truthfulness, etc., can only be tav from the beginning. It is useless to a child have his own way until hi five or six, and then punish him cause he is disobedient or sclf-wil As soon as baby can understand z thing, he should be taught that tl are certain things he must not do. thers need to be very firm —when i say "No," they must emphatic mean "No" —wonderfully kind, nitely patient, and, above all, lov when training their small sons daughters, or they cannot hope good results. A plant and a dog i cr.rcful training; how much more > a child need it, and how very o doe's he not receive it!
