FOOTBALL.

On Saturday no matches will be played in the Horowhcnua area owing to the Otaki races. The Shannon Club have entered a senior, junior and third-grade team for the sevon-a-side tourney to be played at Palmerston North on Monday. The following are the teams:— Senior.—Picard. N. Robbie, McKenzie, Walls, L. Dalzell, N. Dalzell and Hanna. Juniors—J. Mabey, Vertongen, McEwen, N. Holden, A. Mason, F. Saxon, O. Newman. Thirds—o. Tippler, N. Mabey, Woodmass, N. Pratt, D. Mercer, L. Mercer, Hemmingsen. Emergency: T. Roach. All the members of the third-grade team are requested to attend a practice on the Domain on Saturday afternoon. The team will travel to Palmerston North by car leaving Shannon at 9-30 a.m. on Monday. The inter-school football competition commences on Saturday when Shannon will play Foxton at Foxton.
