MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
LEVIN MONTHLY SITTING. Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., presided oyer the monthly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at Levin yesterday. WANDERING COWS IN SHANNON. The Shannon Borough Council for whom Mr T. Moody 'appeared, proceeded against W. Conway on two charges 'laid by the Borough Ranger, Mr J. Swindlehurst. These referred to five cows being at large on May 17th and three on May 18th. The Ranger stated, that he found the former lot, in Ballance Street, the mam thoroughfare, at 10 p.m., and the others in Vogel Street about the same hour the following night. He added that the defendant had been warned on two occasions previously, but this was the first time that he had been charged. . A fine of £l, with costs 10s, in each case was imposed. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES
Orders were made on, judgment summonses as follows: —E. B. Russell to pay Allmand’s Did., £6 16s 6d and costs 15s 6d, at the rate of 10s a month, from May 24th; in default seven days. Pat Bignal to pay W. G. Benning ■ £lO 5s find costs 15s 6d at the rate of £1 10s a month, from June 20th; in defualt ten days. Sue Tame to pay Chary and Co., Ltd., £26 17s and costs £1 Us 6d at the rate of £3 a month, from June 20th; in default 28 days. Fred Grace to pay D. Laing £4 7.s 4d at the rate of- £1 a month, from June 20th; in default seven days. No order was made in the ease of H. B. Wise v. Bert Herkt-, a claim for £ll 19s 6d.
Two judgment claims against Harold Hudson which His Worship/ had adjourned from the last monthly sitting so as-To enable the debtor to consider whether or not be should file, were called again. The claims were: By Adam Burgess, £6 11s 9d, and costs 151 6d; by A. M. Verry, £9 3s 8d and costs 15s 6d. Mr Todd, who appeared for the* defendant, stated that he now offered 1, to pay £1 a month on each claim, in order to avoid going bankrupt. .Mr Adams, appearing for the judgment creditors, stated that they would accept orders for those amounts; and orders were made accordingly.
